June 2016: Deep End Solutions announces a new contract with the State of Montana for the purpose of development of the final phases of the fully electronic ePermitting System.

May 2014: Deep End Solutions announces a new contract with the State of Utah to modify Colorado's Brasscap application to meet the needs for Utah's Abandoned Mine Reclamation Program data management.

January 2013: Deep End Solutions a new contract the State of Montana project to web-enable the Coal ePermitting, Coal Permitting & Compliance application including the Bond Calculation application.

March 2011: Deep End Solutions announces the successful enhancement of the Permit system application by integrating the "Colorado Integrated Reclamation Cost Estimating System (CIRCES)".

Projects

Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety

  • Coordinated and performed all activities to redesign and replace the existing Inactive Mine Reclamation Program application (written in Visual Basic 6.0) with an application written in VB.NET. The new application was also designed to run remotely as a mobile field application on a laptop or tablet PC as well as a desktop machine. When used remotely, data can be collected or updated in the field, avoiding costly and time consuming data re-entry. Data is checked-in to the SQL Server database using Merge Replication when the unit is connected to the office network. The application integrates an ArcEngine class library to incorporate out of the box GIS tools from Pan, Zoom, and Identify to highly customized tools like feature search capabilities, application feature selection, GPS configuration and integration, labels, thematic classification, and TIF export.
  • Converted in-house Visual Baler Application called "Colorado Integrated Reclamation Cost Estimating System (CIRCES)" that allows the state to generate cost estimates for mine site reclamation to VB.NET. CIRCES consisted of 33 Lotus 1-2-3 like spreadsheet applications each compiled to run as a stand-alone program with its own internal database and macros. Enhanced the Permit system application by integrating CIRCES and greatly reducing data entry time and effort and system maintenance cost.
  • Designed and developed a .NET Pocket PC mobile field data collection application for Microsoft Windows Mobile, .NET Compact Framework, ArcGIS Mobile, and SQL Server CE/Mobile. This application allows field inspectors to enter new mine site feature data with a Trimble GeoXT hand held device. Data collected in the field is checked-in to the SQL Server database using Merge Replication and GIS data checked-in to the ArcGIS Server when the unit is connected to the office network.
  • Coordinated and performed all activities to replace the existing Coal and Mineral Programs Regulatory (Permitting) application (written in Visual Basic 6.0) with an application written in VB.NET. The replacement involved converting almost 70 different Visual Basic 6.0 data entry screens in varying complexity into a more manageable, intuitive, and free flowing application. The application integrates an ArcEngine class library to incorporate out of the box GIS tools from Pan, Zoom, and Identify to highly customized tools like feature search capabilities, application feature selection, GPS configuration and integration, labels, and thematic classification.
  • Modified Inactive Mine Reclamation Program application to facilitate real time GIS data editing using Geodatabases and GIS Server technology and to integrate the Laserfiche document management system with the Brasscap system at the feature level to store and display feature photographs
Colorado Department of Natural Resources
  • Colorado’s Department of Natural Resources contracted with Deep End Solutions to evaluate and recommend a course of action concerning the departments ESRI ArcSDE installation for SQL Server. Deep End Solutions re-installed ArcSDE and reloaded the spatial data into the appropriate agency specific repositories by configuring multiple ArcSDE Services. In addition, Deep End Solutions installed and configured the Department’s public ArcGIS Server system.
  • Colorado’s Department of Natural Resources contracted with Deep End Solutions to install ESRI’s ArcGIS Server Image Extension, configure the server software to function within the Department’s GIS, Build a web service to distribute the NAIP 1 meter raster data, and Document the ArcImage Server installation and the creation of services.
State of Montana
  • Montana’s Department of Environmental Quality contracted with Deep End Solutions to modify the Colorado Coal and Mineral Programs Regulatory (Permitting) application to manage and access Coal Permitting & Compliance data called the Coal Permitting & Compliance (CP&C) application
  • Montana’s Department of Environmental Quality contracted with Deep End Solutions to perform all maintenance activities required to ensure 7x24 availability of the Coal Permitting & Compliance data called the Coal Permitting & Compliance (CP&C) application

  • Deep End Solutions assisted in the process to review potential vendors to manage the Data Center Infrastructure
  • Deep End Solutions is currently assisting in the evaluation of ESRI’s ArcLogistics.
